“I needed a couple of credits my last semester in college to graduate. My academic advisor suggested an art drawing class. I gained some experience in charcoal, pen and ink, pencil, and acrylic, finding a connection with the expression. I thought to myself at some point in life when I had more free time I might want to take more art classes and develop a new hobby. Decades later, I saw both my mother and daughter take art classes and create several keepsakes which are on display in my house. In 2019 when I had the time, and with the encouragement of my daughter, I took a beginning oil painting class. I registered for more classes that year, but studio classes were canceled due to Covid for the next 2 years. They restarted in 2022. Over these 4 years, I have painted 70 paintings covering a variety of subjects including pets, structures, nature, and landscapes. Photos of some of my artwork appear here on this website to share with friends and families who have supported my interest and journey. The creative process has enriched my visual awareness and appreciation of the world around us. It has been a surprise and satisfying joy to discover my creative expression. Each of us has our own personal creative side to discover and explore.”
